“DO YOU HAVE GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS?”
Yes, we are pleased to offer gluten free menu items for guests to enjoy. However, as we are a small kitchen, we are not able to prevent cross contamination completely, and ask guests with gluten free and allergen requirements to assess their own risk tolerance.
“DO YOU HAVE A KIDS MENU?”
Yes, we do have a kids menu with both breakfast and main courses, from a children's full English to a classic fish and chips, and of course our freshly made wood fired pizzas and fresh pasta.
“DO YOU DO TAKEAWAYS?”
Yes, we do for select menu items that can be packaged easily, such as our pizzas, fish and chips and sandwiches (including breakfast baps).
“DO YOU DO SUNDAY ROASTS?”
We offer Sunday Roasts exclusively during the winter period, between October and March. However, our other restaurant in West Bexington, just a few miles from West Bay, offers Sunday Roasts throughout the year. Visit The Club House website here: https://www.theclubhousewestbexington.co.uk/

“ARE YOU DOG FRIENDLY?”
Yes, The Watch House in West Bay is dog friendly. We offer a selection of dog treats, including handmade dog biscuits crafted in our very own micro bakery.
“ARE YOU CHILD FRIENDLY?”
Yes, The Watch House is child friendly. We have a dedicated kids' menu for both breakfast and lunch/dinner, with a selection of sweet and savoury breakfast options, as well as freshly made pastas and pizzas.
“WHAT IS THE HIDEAWAY?”
The Hideaway is a takeaway window located directly opposite the Watch House. It serves craft beer, cider and snacks — including cakes and biscuits — perfect for enjoying on Chesil Beach.
“WHEN IS THE HIDEAWAY OPEN?”
The Hideaway is open throughout the summer season, subject to staffing. Please note that since 2025, we also offer the same selection of craft beer and cider inside the Watch House at our bar, so you can enjoy your favourites whatever the weather.
“IS THE WATCH HOUSE ON THE BEACH?”
Yes, The Watch House sits directly on Chesil Beach (East Beach), and you can enjoy views of the sea from the restaurant. East Beach is a shingle beach and is lifeguarded during the summer months.
“DO YOU HAVE OUTDOOR SEATING?”
Yes, We have an upstairs terrace open throughout the summer, where guests can relax and take in sweeping views over East Beach. We also open up half of our downstairs seating area for al fresco dining.
“Had a lovely meal this evening, all food beautifully cooked. Very attentive and we loved the cider samples which led to some great choices to go with our meals.”

Allergy Information
At The Watch House Café we care greatly about all of our customers and aim to make each individual's experience as positive as the next. Our menu descriptions do not list all ingredients. If you have an allergy or intolerance please inform your server every time you eat with us – even if you have eaten the dish before as products can change – so that every precaution can be taken in our kitchen to prevent cross-contamination.

We take great care to prevent cross-contamination when preparing your order in our kitchens. However, due to the layout and operation of our kitchens, we do not have specific allergen-free zones and it is therefore not possible to fully guarantee separation of allergens.
